Bobby is a neutered male GSD who is 5.5 years old and weighs 94.5lb.
Originally meant to be named Boba, this sensitive giant became Bobby instead. Bobby is a very sweet boy who was born on November 18, 2019.
Due to the nature of his foundational years being at the peak of the approaching pandemic and isolation, Bobby is a bit more alert to new, furry faces. Additionally, he does well with people, both adults and children, as long as you let him approach you first.
Slow, calming introductions work best for him, so patience is key with Bobby. However, once he's introduced and acquainted, he will be a wonderful and loyal companion to you or furry buddies. He remembers faces very well and never forgets, making initial introductions critical to his well-being. Bobby is more comfortable around people than other dogs and cats so he would do best as the only dog in the house or if you’re an experienced GSD owner who is comfortable with helping him be acclimated to your other dogs. He has experience with only other GSDs but that took about an hour or two of decompressing/acclimation before he got comfortable.
Bobby is energetic but equally enjoys loafing around. He particularly likes to watch what you’re doing and follow behind you to ensure you’re never lonely. He is very affectionate and enjoys pets/rubs, especially his belly and head. Furthermore, he likes to gently rub his head and brush his body against you when you call him over. I like to joke that he was a cat in his previous life!
I’ve played around with Bobby’s paws and ears since he was only months old, so he is desensitized to his ears/paws being touched. This is especially helpful during bath time, which he enjoys!
Bobby has received formal training on being housebroken and understands his boundaries, such as not jumping on couches, not jumping on the bed, chewing/scratching on furniture, and doesn’t run around inside. He is very well-behaved indoors and does not bark.
Bobby has undergone obedience training along with 14-week boarding using an e-collar. He is housebroken, crate-trained, potty-trained, comfortable with being in a kennel, loves car rides, doesn’t resource guard, and understands basic commands. He is both an inside/outside dog.
