| FOSTER
HOMES NEEDED!
Not all of our rescued German Shepherds
are lucky enough to be in foster homes; many remain in kennels.
We'd like to place EVERY Rescue dog in a foster home where it can
experience the love, care, and attention it needs and deserves while
it is waiting to be adopted.
YOU can foster a German Shepherd Dog!
Our network of rescue volunteers is there to help you with advice,
and Rescue pays for the care of the dog including food and authorized
veterinary expenses.
Won't you consider fostering
a German Shepherd who wants a second chance at a happy life? Fostering
is a very rewarding experience, not only for you, but for the dogs
too!

German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California
regularly adopts dogs to residents of any of 19 Northern California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne. We also consider, resources permitting, potential adopters residing in other Northern California Counties. Our educational outreach extends to anywhere in Northern California. We do not adopt to homes outside of Northern California.

on: Senior dogs in our program!
There are many reasons why senior dogs (aged
7 and up) come into our program. Sometimes the dog's person has
recently died. Other times the dog's family has grown, and there
is simply no time for the dog's needs anymore. Recently we have
had several senior dogs whose families had to move to smaller living
spaces due to loss of a job.
